free phone consultation

I offer a scheduled free 15 min phone consultation to ensure we will be the right fit for one another. Therapy is a process through building trust and rapport and moving towards a space of vulnerability, and I want our time together to feel right for you. In those 15 min, I will answer any questions you may have about my practice, fees, and/or how I typically work with clients. After we decide together if we are a good fit, collaboratively we will start the process of you becoming a client.

first initial session

The initial intake is a time for us to get to know one another and for you to share your story.  I will first ensure there is a clear understanding of my policies and practice, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have before we get started learning more about you. I offer 90 min for our initial session which is unusual from other practices who accept insurances. I want our first session together to feel comfortable, safe, and goal oriented. At the end of the 90 min together, my goal is for you to have an action plan that gives you confidence that our time together will be valuable in your healing.

individual session

Follow-up sessions are 50 min in length and are used to further process through the concerns and goals you hope to achieve in working together. During these sessions, we will use various modalities that help you achieve your goals, healing, and transformation of self. To make the most out of your healing journey, it is common to close each session identifying intentions (goals) that you wish to focus on between sessions. I look forward to walking along side you in this journey of life.

family session

Family sessions are 75-90 min and can be integrated throughout the time that a loved one is in therapy or can be the sole focus of therapy.  Family therapy is a form of treatment that is designed to address specific issues affecting the health and functioning of a family. It can be used to help a family through a difficult period, a major transition, or mental or behavioral health problems in family members.

payment & cancellation

  • self-pay

I am considered to be an out-of-network provider, which means I do not take insurance. I use a HIPPA compliant + online payment system that accepts debit, credit, and HSA/FSA cards. If you are wondering if your insurance company will provide reimbursements for out-of-network services, please contact your provider about your insurance benefits— I can provide a super bill for you to submit if you need.

  • sliding scale

I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots for clients who are experiencing financial hardship. If you have questions + want to know more about the sliding scale option, feel free to email or call me so we can discuss this option in more detail!

  • cancellation policy

If you are needing to cancel a session, please contact me by phone or email at least 48 hours in advance. If you miss your 48-hour window OR you do not show up to your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full fee.

Emergency Resource
Emergencies outside of session time should contact 911 and/or the suicide and crisis lifeline of Wisconsin; 988 (call, text, and/or chat at 988lifeline.org).

Good Faith Act
A new federal law called the “No Surprises Act” was enacted in January 2022. This law requires us to provide you with a “good faith estimate” of the total cost of your treatment.  Estimating the total cost of psychotherapy treatment is very difficult because the course of treatment varies for everyone. The law requires Mindful Movement to make this estimate prior to completing an assessment which further complicates things.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost you.  Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. Mindful Movement has laid out the fees in the intake paperwork and will provide you with a document outlining your rights and estimated fees in the intake packet you will receive through the client portal.
