“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
I came into this work having my own story and struggling to find the path that was right for me. It took time, but eventually I found it. What I learned looking back, though, it wasn’t just one path or one person that brought me to where I am today. It was a collection of paths, persons, and at times my own self-work that brought me through the healing and recovery of my eating disorder. I know I will not be the first or last therapist you decide to share your story with; however, I will honor, respect, and show you empathy in our time working together.
Working with me offers a space to be yourself, identify growth areas, receive tools and support, and more than anything, be seen, heard, and understood. I will compassionately challenge you from the foundation of trust and care I will work to build with you.
Some therapeutic approaches commonly offered include the following modalities:
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)
Somatic Attachment Therapy
Internal Family Systems
Person-Centered Therapy
